Mallet Head

This page contains as many results of Canberra Croquet Club competitions as I can find from our records. Listed are the various competitions with the winner. Photos of the tropihes are included - click on the thumb nail images for larger versions.

The playing season runs fom AGM to AGM, and that is held around June or July each year. Each event (except the Canberra Open - held in January) is given as both years.

A special award is the Amy West Award. Amy was a long-time member of the Canberra Croquet Club and a life member. The award is presented annually by her family and is awarded to "the member considered by the Captain to have made a major contribution to the Club while also working hard to improve their standard of play."

Golf Croquet

The format for play in the Club Golf Croquet competitions was changed in the 2009-2010 playing season to make for more meaningful competitions and recognise the importance of Golf Croquet.

Prior to that the Handicap Singles & Doubles were each one day events. The doubles paired players with different partners against different opponents. There were two winners (possibly more if a tie) - a low handicapper and a high handicapper - with winners determined by hoops. The handicap singles had been played by fitting as many matches in as possible in the day.

It was recognised that existing GC events should be expanded, and a club championship instituted as well. The events now closely mirror the pre-existing AC ones in terms of their formats (see the Trophy document for details).
